As far as aesthetics go, with a long set of pipes, you're going to want to lower your front end too. It doesn't look too cool when your pipes are angled 15 degrees and pointing at the ground while you ride around.
Haven't had that issue with mine with the 21 up front and 18 in back.
If you have had engine work, and it sounds like you have, you and those around you will suffer hearing loss with baffled longtails...they get loud as fawk with high compression engines. Might as well go baffled and give your bike the backpressure it craves.

Say what?? Got any examples you can point out I'm not quite getting it?
33, 36, 39, they all look great for different reasons. Don't fret for one second about torque loss. Buy the system that makes you happy. I'd go longer on my Dyna if they had the option, but my 36 inch fishtails are the absolute longest pipes I could find for my setup.
Thanks for the compliments and advise....I have stripped the bags, winshield, passenger seat and back rest off....moved the handle bars forward....still thinking about some apes.
So I have been searching and think im going with the 36" pipes. I did see the s-471 pipes which is the removable baffles and tips. Does anyone know if this is the updated kit over the s-434 ? My thoughts were if im lowered and mess up a tip I could just replace it....or if it is truely too loud (which I doubt) I could throw on a baffle. It sounds like a more versitle system. My only fear is it may look more of a bolt on look vs a smooth look? Any one know?
I am thinking gettingg the a-130 flange kit.....anything else I need to install thgese myself?

Ben, I apologize, I'm not sure what I was thinking and can't even blame Jack. LOL I've see some examples and understand exactly what your saying.
