I need some advice folks. I haven't had this bke long and love the chit out of the power but dislike the sound. First harley first efi. sooooo, not sure what all is entailed in changing pipes to some 2 ito 2s. I realize I'll lose a bit in the power dept but I'd rather be happy with the sound. I've got SuperTrapps one her now and would like a good, not the most expensive set of 2 into 2s made. not real long and fairly free flowing but with baffles for back pressure. I want a good sound Harley "crack". I don' really want to have to find somewhere to get a dyno run, will this be necessary? I' don't wanna have to jack with the Screamin Eagle Race tuner, heres' what the rest of my ride has in it:
You might look at Python pipes, they're made by Vance and Hines and you can get them through Dr. V-Twin (Drag Specialties?). Pretty much same quality from what I've seen, but a less expensive version.
Supertrapps are known to be a quiet pipe. Unlike other pipes, they are extremely tuneable and a good choice when you want the most. With your large build any 2n2 should be plenty loud. lol Had VH Big Shots Staggered, and even in my lil cammed 88" they sounded really good. Too loud on loooong rides for me though. The prices have dropped on these so check out eBay. Also, hit up some bike shows/rides to look and listen to pipes. You should retune the bike after changing to a 2n2, especially given that build. That bike must fly.
Why not try and get a set of 2-1 that sound good and keep the TQ and HP? I had V&H BSS and my D&D Lowcats look and sound great and give me more of both TQ & HP in the right part of the rev range.
Your bike should accept a set of 2/2 pipes without any further tuning. Vance and Hines Big Shots with the addition of Big City Thunder baffles would be a nice addition to your ride. Which ever pipes you decide on, keep in mind that the longer the pipe, the deeper the tone.
Dude, if you wanna keep the torque and have really bad@$$ sound, too, get a Thunderheader. These sound better than most 2-2s I've heard. 2-2s are all bark and no bite! I'm getting a D&D Fatcat, because I want to squeeze as much power out of her as I can, before burrowing into the motor.
wahog, hows the black holding up on your lowcat? do you have any more photos? Im thinking of getting one for my fatboy,Ive got a chrome fatcat now ,I would never go back to the bss , everybodys got them here where I live, My fatcat sounds nasty, and has great low end torque. Bsod IF you go to a 2-2 from a 2-1 I really think you need to retune to run the best it can. Im sure that bike was tuned for that pipe with that build. If you go to another 2-1 id say ,no

To early to say if there's any problems with the black, seems to be good quality. Look, goes and sounds mean. I have PC5 with Autotune so I didn't do much of a tune when I swapped from BSS but I did dyno to get the numbers. Would never go back.
