Anyone got any ideas on how to get my hands on a kit. I have the DG seat and ive read up that i can modify the touring strut kit available for the rocker to fit for a passenger. From the dealer they quoted me around 600 for the whole set up.
while that is a great looking idea. fabricator is no where in my vocabulary at all. maybe a shop around here could do something without spending too much though?
I have seen them from time to time on eBay but like you said, it's a matter of chance. You should shop online as most online vendors tend to give you discounts of up to 20%. I have used Surdyke.com for new Harley parts and I saved a good bit of money. Still expensive overall as Harley parts aren't cheap to begin with but still good. Every now and then they offer free shipping.
keep checking ebay...I got the whole setup with the struts, luggage rack, passenger seat, backrest and pad for $450. You will just have to be patient. The quote you got is about $300 cheaper than the quote I got from my local stealer for the whole package.
eBay is where I got mine. I had to piece it together. Use multiple search critiera and save each search and have it email you. You will eventually find a good deal.
