I'm 6'2" and 170lbs. I've got a strong back and no problems, but the Forty-Eight rode like a hardtail. The Slim fits me perfectly and rides like a sofa by comparison.

I bet if you ride the Slim, your Iron will be gone (unless you decide to have both).

Good Luck,

Karl--

I love the V&H pipes on your Slim. What set up are you running? Just a SE A/C?

Thanks Warrick,

I went completely blacked out on this bike: exhaust, forks, mirrors, etc.

In my opinion, the stock Slim front end look is terrible--satin silver lowers and cowbells, gloss black headlamp/uppers. That would have been an easy call from the factory to black it all out.

I'd do the front end before pipes or anything else if prioritizing on budget.

I can't remember what I paid, but I had an MVP 10% discount as a Bumpus customer (which essentially offsets tax and knocks the price down a small amount from catalog).

Thanks Man,

I'm running Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggered, Stage 1 SE A/C, H-D SEPST tuner. I like the Big Shots as they have a crossover pipe which helps a bit in terms of torque.

When new (dyno break in at shop and SEPST tune), it put out 79 rwhp / 91.9 lb-ft tq with a flat torque curve and steady rise in hp, with no dips. I will post that one shortly.

Regards,

Karl

I agree on the front end. No worries, already found the parts and priced it out (parts are around $450).

Thanks.

Warrick,

Be sure to order the gloss black fork cover accent trim strips. I don't know the part number off hand, but they are $8.95 each (you need to order two). The black cowbell and fork leg kit doesn't come with this (because the top parts are already black with satin trim pieces).

The parts guy at the shop should be able to pull this part number for you.

Trust me, you will not regret the extra $18 as the accent strips make a difference.

Damn, that is why I love this site, good people willing to take a few minutes on the details.

Thanks Karl!

Hi guys, I don't pick up my Slim until this weekend, does anyone know if I can flip the mirrors upside down just like the forty eight without having clearance issues?
Thanks
