I had a Sportster Forty-Eight and sat on the Slim when it hit the dealership. My wife was with me and actually encouraged me to get it.
The Slim is now in my garage with my Street Glide. The Forty-Eight went bye bye.
I'm 6'2" and 170lbs. I've got a strong back and no problems, but the Forty-Eight rode like a hardtail. The Slim fits me perfectly and rides like a sofa by comparison.
I bet if you ride the Slim, your Iron will be gone (unless you decide to have both).
Agreed on the don't go back b/c it will 1) be gone or 2) you will buy it. I bought a 2011 Blackline Softail (which I freaking LOVE) b/c of the old school slightly bobber look. I'm happy with the Blackline but have fallen in love with the Softail Slim! It's got a slightly lower seat, solo seat stock, sweet bar set-up, retro styled foot boards and the slightly bigger motor.
The Softail Slim will do VERY well with all of us riders that don't want a super heavy big bike with a bunch of stuff attached to it.
I'm 6'2" and I've said it before the Slim fits me like it was built for me, they make a set up to reduce the bar reach from the saddle for shorter riders, the stock cables work with the reduced reach set up. Good thinking Casey!
Rode my iron to the dealer to get some oil. Sat on the slim. Left with it two days later and traded the iron. The 103 is incredible compared to the 883. Made me learn how to " hold on". The ride and power is night and day. If you test ride, you will leave with it. Which isn't always a bad thing...

Good Luck,

Damn, that looks good! I see those are V&H pipes (like em), what did the blacked out forks run ya? First thing I thought when I saw it was blacked out forks and black pipes, like everything else.
I called my sales guy this morning, can't get it out of my mind. They said they weren't really running any specials right now, but he told me they create their own deals.
I told him I wanted the blacked out forks (upper, lower) and some new pipes, and gave him the details on my Iron.
