Default Question about your set up

Hey there.I just bought a softail slim 2015 and I Will be traveling long distance for my job. I am having trouble finding a way to pack all my luggage. I came across your thread and seen your slim has quite a bit on the back. What it's the brand and detail of your quick detach luggage rack? They don't make too many options for the slim.

Thanks,
Jacob

I'm not 12Slim. If you're referring to the picture below,
it appears to me to be a "detachable" chopped rear fender rack
for a Slim/Blackline - not a true "quick detach" type rack that
is attached to the sissybar.

Here's the pic I think you are referring to;

Here's a shot of my slim with same rack - notice the support struts
going down to the blinkers...

I wanted a true "quick detach" rack/sissybar, so I had my buddy
weld some tabs onto my sissybar so I could add an aero-rack.
Heres a few pics;

So now I have it where I can "quick detach" the whole mess in a couple
of seconds....

hope this helps,

T.

Yes this is what I'm looking for. I like the whole passenger seat and sissy bar with rack set up. Very nice. Did you have to move turning signals? Also I have a side mount license plate. This has been really frustrating trying to figure out how I'm going to be able to put luggage on my bike. Thanks for your help.

Anytime you want add "quick detach" type accessories to a stock
Slim/Blackline, you will need to relocate the rear turnsignals.
You can see they are round-stalks now instead of the aero-style
stock stalks in the next to last picture above. As for the
side-mount licenseplate, I relocated it to an axle-mount
that I got from Road 6 customs. You can see how its
mounted in this pic...

hope this helps,

T.

This is my 12 slim, it has the HD quick detach bar and quick detach rack on it. Will have to move the lights n plate for the detach mounts. Not all that hard to detach once you get used to it.

12 FLS..HD quick detach sissy bar and luggage rack.

Love the Slim, have it for 9 (nine!) days now and don't miss my Sportster at all. Okay, that's not entirely true, I do miss the lighter handling but the Slim is soooo much better! Sorry for not contributing anything
