Im trying to do basically the same thing.. I found a complete takeoff set of stock forward controls off an 06 Night trai but my Fatboy is an 09 like the OP.. what else would I need other than the extnd kit from arlen ness to bolt these on mine? Or will I need a set of controls off an 09 Softail??
I modified my 07 Fatboy to forward controls with 3 inch extensions.
I had them on the 03 standard and took them off of there before trading in. It was a bold on fit. But of course, one can never stop at just bolting on. I ordered Braided cables and all that for the 07 Fatboy.
NOTE, I had to put on an outward extension to the footpeg protion since on the Fatboy when the forward controls are out there and you make a parking lot turn there could be a chance of whacking the fender in a tight turn. So that fixed that. I rerally enjoyed that scoot.

Hey could you tell me what you exactly had to do with the footpeg?
I've been told 3" extended controls won't fit on a Fatboy?
