The other weekend I went on a ride and it was very windy. After riding 1.5 hours at highway speeds and with the wind my neck was sore whenI got home. So I finally decided on the standard height windshield and installed it last night. I haven't riden with the windshield yet but i'll let you know how it is once I do.
I also installed the Sidekick seat....a lot more comfortable than stock!
How about 07 fatboy with Auxilery lighting (not the deluxe one) and a Nacelle shroud over the lamp... wonder what aftermarket or hd windshield would fit?
The one that came with my bike is also too high, at 21". I'm always looking through it, verses just over the top on my previous bike.I just wish the HD catalog had the height measurements posted! My dealer dosen't normally stockthe various sizes. Here's a good description of the proper sizing that I found on the Memphis Shades website....
How To Buy A Windshield That Fits

Most riders like to be able to see over their windshields. But in order to do this and still get ample protection, the windshield must reach up between the tip and the bridge of a riders nose. If it doesn't, a rider will experience mild to severe buffeting.
Many riders like looking through their windshields, but what they often fail to account for is rain. When it rains everyone has to look over the top of the windshield in order to see clearly. When choosing a windshield it's vital a rider chooses one that isn't so high that he or she can't comfortably extend themselves to see up over the top of the windshield.
Im 5'10 and have the standard on my fatty. I look through about 3 inches on the sheild at the top. If I sit straight up, I see over it. Nice fit for me.
