probs after new H-D battery
i have replaced the battery of my heritage, due to being 4yrs old, and i replaced it with a genuine H-D battery. now it keeps blowing the headlamp fuse as soon as the ignition switch is turned on. and the running lamps go off as well ( must be same curcuit) everything else is working, i removed the batt in case there was a trapped wire can't see one, and have taken off any accessory power leads but it still blows the fuse. the bike runs but it means i cant use the headlight and no i cant use candles as they keep blowing out. any got any ideas what to do next thanks.

I had the same problem with my 05 after about 3 months. Turns out the head light was aimed down too much and the wiring wore through on the front fork cover where the wiring passes through. Bike was new and I hadn't ridden in the dark and didn't notice the poor aiming. Otherwise I would have adjusted it before the damage occured.

we got around to checking out the wiring, had trouble undoing the screws holding the headlight but couldn't find any chaffing wires, etc. so i put a quality fuse in and bingo everything is ok, must be cheap chinese fuse that the auto shop sold me. i went through 6 before getting a better one.
