Default Which Camshafts

I was recently thinking about some more power, but after talking with many people ,I think I've pretty much decided, although not totally, that its not what I need, we only ever potter around, and very rarely get on the motorways, is there a camshaft setup that will give me an increase in power lower down the rev range, I'm not one of those riders that gets anywhere near the redline. not on this thing anyway, (sportsbikes were another story), so a bit more power lower down would suit me.

I went with the Crane 310-2 high torque cam, but don't think they make it anymore. Torque is where the power is, that horspower crap is for the ricers. High torque cams, deck and lightly port and clean the heads, new valve springs and pushrods and you'll have all the power ya need. Plus a good torque cam will lope out your idle a bit more, especially if you're EFI. Talk to your engine builder, they can usually steer you in the right direction.

A good, relatively cheap, nice low-end torque cam is the SE 255. I don't have them, but based on what you're looking for, they sound tailor made for your style of riding. You could also get a four degree advance to move the torque curve even lower.

I just did Andrews 48 cams on my FXSTC, power right where you want it and they made the bike sound awesome compared to the stock cams.

Very hard to disagree with this...

If you run a 2 into 1 exhaust then bolt them in and go.

If you run a 2 into 2 exhaust consider a +4 degree off set.
