I got a cpl question on if/how I relocated the coil on my Softail CrossBones.
.
I removed the "fake" seat support tube the coil is mounted to.
.
Then I just extended the coil wires with some16 gauge wire so it would reach where the horn was.
.
Made a bracket out of a piece of stainless steel (painted it black).
.
I cut the long plug wire in half to make two short ones.
.
And then just put it on.
.
As of now, I'm just running it without a cover... just bolted the coil right to the bracket I made.
.
I rewired the horn to the front of the down tubes...
.
Wasn't that bad...
If you cut the coil mount piece off the seat post you can weld or bolt it to your drop down bracket you made and use the coil cover.
I just cut that piece off and flipped it upside down and switched the pins in the plug so the coil is facing down and the plug wires are not crossed.
