Leave the ball bearings at home and get some nuts and bolts...can't prove that they weren't already ON the road wear as a hand full of ball bearings is suspect...
Or move to a state with a Castle Doctrine law and concealed carry, and at the point in time that you feel your life is threatened you can get thier attention for real.
i would be covered in Colorado for that too, we can carry concealed in our cars and on our bikes without a permit, as the Colorado supreme court ruled that your personal conveyance is an extension of your home. You could thoretically be covered under the castle doctrine law if you had to shoot someone while on your motorcycle.
I've been riding for 40+ years - had a few minor mishaps and over time changed where & when I ride to reduce the risk. If possible, I avoid hiways & stay on side/country roads, smell the scenery & cruise under 50 mph
I would never live my life based on the actions of others. I had a freind die in my arms last year, a lady pulled out in front of us. He was up front, I was behind him. It was fate, plain and simple. Not once did it ever enter my mind to sell my bike, not once in close to 40 years now. It's your life, you do what you gotta do but never would I give up riding because of the asswipes out there in 4 wheels. My time to go was carved in stone the day I was born, there is nothing I can do about it. If I get done in while riding my bike, as long as it's quick and fast, so be it. I think my life style, how I eat and sleep is much more dangerous then riding my bike. I am betting I stroke out and have "the big one" before I go out while riding. I have lived all over this country, some of the worst traffic areas we have. Still, I never once thought of giving it up. Good luck.
live in nyc thought it was bad here.took a ride to conn this past weekend you are right worst drivers ever.10 bikes and a lady cuts in our lane like it was ok.happen like 3 times in 1 day.I will stay out of there for a while.
I had about 300 miles on my bike when I had a lady turn left in front of me and i narrowly avoided disaster. Since then I took the rider class and I havent had anymore close calls. I think its mostly because I dont put myself in places where its likely to get ugly. You cant avoid everything, but you sure can up your chances of getting where you are going in one piece with a few safe riding practices.
