Default Turn Signals dont flash but 4 ways do.

On my 93 Heritage. I've been going in circles here. First my right turn signal wouldn't flash it would just light up. Changed front bulb because the running light filiment was burnt. Next the left signal wont flash unless its sitting at idle or engine off. All bulbs are good. Anything above idle, it just stays bright steady. Now I have both turnsignals lighting steady bright. Neither flash when selected each side, but if I use 4 ways they both work at any speed. Could the flasher be going out? Why would 4 ways flash, but not left or right by themselves?

What is this, the "ignore the newb until he takes his bike apart or reads every post". I did read almost every other post and took apart my bike. I found the TSM. It is between the tanks. balanced the right tank on the air cleaner and checked out all the wiring. All wires look good (no obvious chaffing). The TSM was a little loose, so I snugged it down hoping it would help it ground. I don't know if it grounds to the frame or through the wiring. Put it all back together and what do you know, turn signals still just light up steady above idle. 4 way hazards work real good at all rpms. AAARRRGGGHHH!

are you running aftermarket bulbs? it's gotta be the right resistance/draw otherwise it'll think the bulb is bad. if not, that sure sounds like you have a bad bulb. i'd change them all out with new hd bulbs.

you said it is light up solid above idle...are these stock lights? i had a similar condition on my sporty, first it was a worn wire grounding out...and then bulbs that weren't the right resistance.

Fronts are stock. Good, new bulbs, cleaned connections and applied dielectric grease. Rears are kuryaken halogen bullets installed by PO. Clean connections etc... these all worked when i bought bike this summer. First lost right turn but found burnt bulb. Now lost left but only above idle.

You checked the sockets with a test light?

I haven't checked the sockets with a test light because the real turn signal bulbs light up, they just dont flash (Not light up).

I know what you mean but maybe with a test light you can find a dead spot?

Try and install a new TSM. I's only 6 bucks.
