Nostalgia is Dead
I have a problem with my 1993 FLSTN. It cut off w/o warning the other day, but after sitting for about a minute, it re-started and I was able to ride it home. I noticed, however, the neither the Tach not the signal lights were working, although the headlights and passing lamps were lit. Once I got home, it died again.
When I jump start the bike and put a meter on the battery terminals I can watch the voltage dropping.
The battery showed only about 9 volts. I did an AC Voltage test and resistance test on the stator. Both were normal. I have no resistance across the main breaker.
Normally I would change the regulator, but I have never heard of a bad regulator affecting the signals or Tach.
Anybody deal with this before, or have any ideas?

Thanks, might be, but when I put trickle charger on it, it appears to be taking the charge. I also checked the cables, and they're tight at both ends. The battery is a Harley battery, and is less than 6 months old.
