Default One throttle cable

So I got my apes on and now I am only running 1 throttle cable.

I have what feels like a 1/4 turn of slack in the throttle (it's actually 1/8th of a turn) but its quiet a bit.

Can I eliminate this? If not I guess I can live with it. But.. my bike has also stalled on me twice now. Once at idle at a red light, and other while on the throttle it sputtered then hooked up for a second and then seemed like it was starving for gas and died/stalled - both times it didnt want to fire right back up, I actually had to give it some throttle as I hit the ignition.

Any help here would be really appreciated.

there should be a cable adjustment screw up by the throttle in the cable...? is there none? it may be fully compressed...just screw it out.

You gotta balance the 2 cables so take the slack out and allow the cable to return. Play with both adjusters so that it has little play and snaps back. I adjusted mine tonight so that I had just barley any slack, but thats how I like it. I think both adjusters are about half out.

I don't think the throttle adjustment would affect the way the bike runs, once the throttle bodies close its running off the whatever the idle is set at, I don't know for certain but would assume there is an idle control valve in there that may be out of adjustment or dirty.

Im on my phone and can't see what bike you have, but is there any adjustment at the bottom of the cable down by the carb/manifold whichever you have? Usually an adjustment at that end also. If there's not and your upper adjustment is maxed out...not too much you can do...wrong cable I guess.

Thnx for the feedback - I am only running 1 cable - it's adjusted as far as it can go.

Thinking I might need a different cable - thnx

I have a single cable on one of my bikes. It has a little bit of play burt not enough to cause the bike to stall. It was a cut to length at the time of install with an internal throttle.

Do you have the spring installed in the mount at the throttle body?
