I have a 2010 FLSTC and I need to get everyones opinion on which is better for my bike. The options are the Dobeck Performance TFI or the GEN 3 EJK. I look foward to everyones thoughts and help. I dont know which one would be a better item for my bike
I have a TFI. It works good for what it does - add fuel. It takes a bit of tweeking, dialing in. Dobeck support was top notch in helping me. Cant say if its better because I never used Gen 3. Also, I got the TFI heavily discounted on eBay, dont think I'd be using it otherwise.
Welcome to the Forum!
Don't know anything about the GEN 3 EJK, but I had a Dobeck on my '04 and loved it. Very easy to use and adjust. Great for simple uprades to exhaust and intake.
I have the EJK (gen 3), and it works extremely well for me. When I first installed it, the engine ran great but I was getting poor mileage (~25 mpg). I called the Dobeck folks up about my settings, and they were great in stepping me through the options.
My understanding is the TFI was their original unit, and the EJK is their latest. I have the Gen 3, but they've since come out with the Gen 3.5 & 4.0. There are a lot of potential choices out in the fuel tuner market, but if you are going down the Dobeck path I'd go with their latest and greatest.
