Got mine too. But it was for the XL I used to own. I don't think the 12 slim has a problem. Recycled it.

On my Street Bob (09) I can remember filling up and then just casually screwing on the cap instead of pushing down and turning. Fuel would spill out. Back then I told the dealer, they blew it off.

I never got a recall notice, but had my Fatboy in for a new tire last week. The receipt they gave me when I picked up the bike said they had performed this recall. Not sure what they actually did, but I can tell you I still have the same gas cap?!?!?

I just got one for both my bikes. I figured they'd just give me a new cap, but this sounds like they must be doing something inside the tank? I guess that means I'll actually have to leave it?

I understand the letter to mean they will replace the cap AND the inner thread assembly of the tank. I could care less, but if I smell fumes, which I do, then that means the fuel I pay almost $5 a gallon for is vaporizing! Al Gore reads this notice, he'll try to ban Harley Davisons for causing global warming.

I hope leaving it at the dealership isn't one of the options they give me. I will wait for it if I can.
