Use a crows foot and convert the torque value accordingly.

I think JD may be out on the road doing bike shows and swap meets. Write him from here and if he is still out on the road he will answer you from here. He does, by far, have the best quality and customer service of anyone I have ever dealt with, for anything, anywhere. I just ran mine tight as I could and I have had zero issues. P.S., if he can't fix it over the phone with you I will bet my bottom dollar he will have a new one for you in the mail that day, if at all possible.

Thanks for the reply! I got the install done saturday, and did exactly as you said. Everything went great, but now I have a new problem

After the install, I tested everything on the lift. The shocks worked great. I could suck the rear wheel and tire all the way up in to the fender, and drop it all the way down. Once I got the bike off the lift, i held both switches up and took it to max height and firmness. It was solid as a rock! Then i held both switches down and dumped it all the way down. When it was slammed something bad happened, because I blew the inline fuse in the wiring. I think that with the full weight of the bike, some electrical wiring got pinched between the compressor and the shock when I dumped it! I replaced the fuse once, and as soon as I touched the switches, it popped again!

I'm not sure how much clearance there is between the compressor and the shock when it's slammed (or if it changes at all), but after I got the bike raised with the jack again (with the hanging swing arm taking a littlle pressure off), there was just enough room to slide a notecard between them. I will have to drop the shock tomorrow, and see if any of the wiring got pinched!

bummer!!!

That sucks Hostile. Hopefully it's easy to find and you can put some soldier and shrink tube on it. Then you can re-route your wires out of the way of the moving parts.

I think your exactly right ash! I talked to JD at lunch today, and he seemed to think it would be more likely to be that relay getting pinched than anything. It makes sense, and I know I had it somewhere up in the top right corner of the splash guard.

If that's the case at least it will be easy to get to. I can't wait to get home and pull that Splash Guard to see.

Thanks for the help man. By the way, I'm a huge fan of your bike!
You and story have two of the coolest looking trains on here.

Thank you Hostile I appreciate that. I hope that it is an easy fix for you. Make sure to let posts know what the issue was and post some pics of when your bike when you're done.

Turns out relay was fine (safe and sound in middle of splash guard), and there were no pinched wires between the compressor and the shock body. I called JD and we narrowed down the problem to the compressor. It must have a short or something. No worries. After pulling everything out (with the exception of the shock), I found a better way to route the wires. A couple beers later I was just laying under my bike staring at the shock and the under side of the tranny admiring just how well this setup fit together.... it was nice and quiet under there.....I might have found my happy place!

True to form, JD overnited me another compressor. Can't wait to throw it in tomorrow!

That's cool. The shock is so pretty it's hard to make yourself hide it up under the bike. Make sure and post an update after you get the compressor installed. I was reading on another thread where another guy had a loose wire in his compressor. I'm sure JD will be placing a call to his supplier.
