Default Bad race tuner

I had my 07 Fatboy dynoed 5 years ago when i put pipes on. Now I put on new pipes and brought it to dealer to get the dyno done. They said they could read it but unable to tune it due to tuner not responding Now they're checking with HD if there was any issues with tuners. If not I'm stuck with extra tuner and out of 400 bucks
Anybody else having issues with their HD screaming eagle race tuners?

Son and I have had 4 of them since 07 on our last 4 new bikes, plus we prob know dozen other riders that have them, I've never heard or read of anyone ever having any problems with the SERT or SEPST going bad.

Actually wonder if the problem isn't with the Wrench rather than the tuner.

Thinking to work with Ur dealer and see if either They or MoCo takes care of Ur issues..

let us know how it comes out...

Could be a bad cable that they are plugging into the tuner... but they probably would have noticed that already if they do this regularly.

They checked several cables at no avail. They called Harley co and they said either it's out of date or original dealer gave me the wrong part 5 years ago. Dealer knocked off $100 off the new tuner. Still cheaper than new engine.
On the bright side, they found my front wheel bearing was shot and replaced that considering I'm going on a road trip next week. With that bearing locking up on me and me flying over the handle bar still kind of lucky I guess.

Never heard of one being out of Date... Thinking the dealer just threw that in..

Also I don't know if a SE tuner can be mishandled and end up not working.. like getting too hot or being near a Magnet.

I am betting Ur dealer gave U the wrong tuner after they tuned it.

Whats bad also is that someone else will have the same problem If U got the wrong one back cause they have Ur tuner..

U might check the dealer that tuned Ur bike and see if they can look up the other bikes that was tuned on the 2-3 days before and after Urs to see if anyone else has the problem.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++
OK I just looked at mine...

I was hoping the box and the tuner had Serial No's on both so U could see if they matched.. but they don't

My box has - 32107-01G - on it

My tuner has - 321140-01A on it and dated - 04/27/07

Which I had it installed around June of 07 at the 1 K.

But my tuner does have my Name on it and another NO... 159AE003005.. which one of the turner's added to it, That may be the number they assigned to the dyno tune.??

Does Ur tuner have anything written on it.????

I will add my dealer had to retune mine after the install because the wrench that put the muffs on did a bad job and had air leaks,, BAD.. so they retuned it 4-5 days later .

Also when I did the cams at 16k they retuned her again..

So I would have known about it real quick if I was given the wrong one..

If U got the newer SEPST its supposed to be even better and easier to tune than the older SERT's..
Also I've read the tune takes about 1/2 the time now (in the right hands) and U end up with a better tune..
