Well a little bright spot today. I picked up the top triple from the machine shop and bolted the front end together.

So I said screw it. I JB welded the primary together, the bike is now done except for a rear fender!!! lol

I am so on the sdge of putting the stock rear end back on and riding this thing for week or two.

Dont get mad. This bike looks like an amputee or something like it. You know somethings missing and there is something there to replace it and its not the same anymore but its still fully functional, maybe better.

Again I really like it. I wanted to be a smart *** about how could you do this or that but this has been a real good thread and i'm glad to see the build. Still waitin to see what you are going to do for a rear fender.

I say screw the rear fender and ride it. Pull the struts off and call it good til you figure one out.

As far as blackin out the swinger, I am still undecided. The aluminum color sorta adds some contrast to the bike. But I think it also makes it look very long, then again the ****er is VERY long. I did not anticipate that when I planned the build, but screw it. The bike is going to be a cruiser / hot rod / bobber. Handling and performance does not matter. I aint gonna be carvin corners on this bitch!!

I ordered a santee fender off ebay. Originally I planned to chop off the rear frame spars, but the bike is so long that I think choppin off those spars would make look even longer. I am gonna use those spars to mount the rear fender. I will post a couple of mock up pics when the fender arrives mid week.

Gonna order offset primary parts also. I think a week or two time frame to get this on the road is not out of the question. All depends on the primary offset workin out.

PS I love the CB750 headlamp with the grill!!!!!!!!!!! The other thing I love is that gixxer front master cylinder stickin up off the bars!! Looks so friggin functional / industrial / not decorative!!!

I am thinkin that with the rear tire so far out back, it will be pretty easy to do a smoker with this bad boy!!!

I also did "the test" tonight. I brought my 10 yr old and 8 yr old daughters out to the driveway and asked them what they thought of daddys bike. They both said "we liked it better when it was red, it is ugly now". BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exactly what I was hoping little girls would think of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being the style that it is now, are you going to put mid controls back on it? Or maybe even a rear set?

Nahhhhh, I was sittin on it in the garage tonight making motor noises, and I really like the forward controls and the seating postion. I sat on it and pretended I was a bad *** biker dude for like 5 minutes, then I had to go inside and put the kids to bed.
