So I said screw it. I JB welded the primary together, the bike is now done except for a rear fender!!! lol

I am so on the sdge of putting the stock rear end back on and riding this thing for week or two.
The more I look at these pictures, the more I think of throwing some clip-ons on below the top triple tree, an ultra low profile seat using partially cut struts to hold a drag/cafe style rear "preventer of *** going off the back of motorcycle" type fender. And of course topped off with some rear set pegs.

Love this thread, keep the pictures coming!

I ran clip ons on my GT with rear set pegs. That set up lasted a very short time. It was so uncomfortable to ride that I hated riding it!!! I switched to the stock mid set pegs and superbike style bars and it is a pleasure to ride now.

I actually did sit on this bike in the garage last night. The seating positon seems pretty good. I am bent over a bit, but not too bad. Also my elbow falls very naturally on my knee when I let go of the bar. Ya never know until ya ride it, but I think it will work out. As a cruiser I wouldnt mind the bars a little higher and farther back, but I just love these tracker style bars. Hopefully it they will work out.

Right now I am focused on gettin her on the road. Gonna call 3 guyz tomorrow for tech advise on the primary and hopefully they will haver the parts I need and I will get them on the way.

So I called 3 guyz today and spoke to Andy. Very friendly and helpful guy. We discussed this bike at length and I sent him all the pics of the offset and the measurements etc. He advised that I would need to upgrade to the post 94 collar on the transmission shaft, which is actually a 1/4" closer and exposes more spline surface for a stronger sprocket set up. After doing the collar conversion, which is very easy and can be done without removing the shaft or tearing into the tranny, I would then use a 1" tranny offset plate to move the tranny to the left. Then use a 3/4" offset sprocket and I should achieve a straight chain line based upon the photos and measurements. Then gather the standard 1" offset parts and bolt it together. He also suggested I could use a 1" extended tranny shaft rather than the offset plate, but that would require a tear down of the tranny and specail tools. So long story short, I am going to start ordering parts.

I also dont want to rush this job. I am going to bolt the stock rear end on this week and ride the bike for a couple weeks while I gather parts. I will then take my time and complete the off set job this winter.

I will post some pics with the stock rear end later this week and you can tell me what you think as far as looks.

And ya gotta cut me some slack!!!! I have always wanted a Harley. Now I have one and have been lookin at a pile-o-parts in the garage since I got it!!! I want to tool it around a little before winter.

Stay tuned, project "rear end" not abandoned, just delayed.

Good plan, at least you'll get some riding time with that killer front end.

The temp set up.

I bolted the stock rear end back on so I could ride for the last couple weeks of the season. Offset and CBR rear end for the winter.

I will tell ya that this thing makes one hell of racket!!!! Very fun to ride.

Not my style!!!

My style!!
