BINGO!!!! That little ***** was in there backwards. I didnt even realize there was a little flange on one end till I looked closely.

Primary is all buttoned up. First test ride in the morning. Very nervous. I will just be happy if it doesnt shake apart and drives in a straight line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody want to place a bet here??? What are the chances I get assaulted if I go to a harley dealer tomorrow!?!?!?!

I will give a full report tomorrow.

I am also super stoked that I even made it this far!!! All my buddys where like "your gonna have a pile of parts and torn up bike and nothin is gonna work, a huge waste of money". I can tell ya that I was super nervous at the start. All the variables concerning mixing the metric jap parts and standard US, all the details with brakes, stems, pivots, bushings.......A million things could have gone wrong or cost a ton to adapt. All in all it went well. I did 98% of the work myself and everything went pretty much as planned. Just buying that 1000 rear end was the biggest mistake. Besides that, went pretty smooth.

I think it looks great. Curious to know if you'll be able to stay on that seat.

First ride complete...........RIIIPPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Man I love this bike, smooth as hell, super light weight, pulls like a bear!!!!

Turning isnt bad at all, about on par with stock.

Late for work, details later. Bottom line is I rode about 50 miles, drove straight as an arrow and nothin broke!!!!

Would be more work, and cost a bit, but looking at this, I just wonder what it would look like, and ride like, with a riser/pullback that would place the grips back a few inches, speedo/tach paired at the top of the bars (which you're used to on the metrics already), a slimmer tank with just a filler cap, like my 1200C has (and make the bike look sleeker and even longer, and might be needed for handlebar clearance if they were moved), and something like a Mustang seat mounted just above the swingarm pivot point, or even slighty behind, if it had fender clearance. That might be a stretch for the pegs - but then mids might be the thing. Instead of looking like an obviously modified bagger, would have more of an engineered racing look. Even as is, you've got a pretty unique looking bike that will stand out in a crowd.

Good to hear it handles ok; not all extreme mods do. I can imagine the disappointment had it been otherwise. The stuff I've done is pretty minor compared to this.
