i dont know, I get a little silly when comes to tranny and motor stuff. I think I would feel better just having a pro look it over, fix it, replace any worn stuff and bolt it back together. I will save a ton by rippin it out of the bike myself. I am pretty good when it comes to big bolts and stuff!!!

Hey, no comment on the hugger??? I dont know if that is a good thing or bad!!!

final paint / finish to follow for tank and hugger.

I think I really like the look. I really like the look of the rear fender color... so why not just paint the front and rear fender and gas tank silver? I'd say it'd look pretty sick with either a matte titanium silverish color (kinda like the matte pewter that used to come on the nighttrains) or maybe even a silver with some metal flake? Option 2 might be a little too "blingy" though.

How are you going to clean up the wiring? I feel like this might be quite the obstacle... Being that it is such a "bare bones" build, I forsee some problems trying to hide wiring and cables since everything on the bike is pretty much exposed anyways. I am guessing zip ties will become your friends?

As for under the seat, what about this idea... tap very small holes into the frame around the seat area you are wanting to cover and then screw in some "snaps" where the holes are, then get a peice of leather (or some type of really tough fabric), cut it a little extra-large to cover the under seat area, attach the other sides of the snaps to this piece (coresponding with the snaps that are not on the frame of the bike, under the seat) and then sew up the edges of said piece to keep it from fraying... Does this make any sense? It's the first thing that came to mind when trying to think of something... If you tap tiny holes into the fram, with it hurt the frame's strength?

I like it to, plus no welding or building, bolt on!!

As far as the wiring, I was basically talking about under the tank and the ignition switch. For under the tank I am thinkin about trying one of those roland sands back bone covers / tank mount. It will cover up the wiring hanging out by the front bottom edge of the tank. Also, it has a hole / mount are for the ignition switch. If I showed ya a close up pic of how the switch is now, you may throw up in your mouth a little!!

For paint.........not sure if I want to paint the tank at all. Maybe just clear it. Maybe paint the tank and hugger black?? We will see.

I think I am gonna pick up one of those frame covers for under the seat. It should look nice and clean when I black it out. The snaps idea, I dont think so. I would hate to dril any holes in the frame and I dont think it would have a tidy look around the edges. Thanx for the input though.

I can dick around with the fender and other cosmetics whenever I get the chance. Just wanna get the tranny squared away and make her a solid runner first.
