Guy,

Glad to hear your ok, sorry about your family loss.

As a Paramedic I have seen much less damage on a bike with lots more damage to the rider. Glad to hear your gear worked.

Can't wait to see your bike version 2.0

Hey Joebot, is it difficult mounting that sporty tank on the softail?? Do you have to weld tabs or something???

I guess you then have to reposition your ignition and ditch the idiot lights?? Give me some tech Bro!!!

Ran down to the harley dealer and picked up a 9 dollar circut breaker.............WE GOT POWER!!!!!!

Neutral light and oil light shining bright.

Have to measure each day with small victories.

Since I have the bike torn down I am thinkin on having the 1000RR swinger machined a bit and slapping that rear end on. Just gotta eye up the chain run and see if we are in the park.

I am probably gettin a little ahead of myself. I will feel much better once I can fire it and be sure it is runnin ok.
mmmmmmmmmm 1000RR goodness!!! 8)

I know you must be thinkin "if that arm didnt work before why will it work now??? Well, since I have the offset all set up and a decent chain run, I will see if this arm will have a straight chain run if I machine it a little to sqeeze in the frame. Only if the custom bushings from the 600 arm fit it the 1000 arm though.

Roland Sands makes a tunnel adapter to put a Sportster tank on the square backbone of the softail frame.

I can't seem to find it on their website though. I've seen it in person before.

Edit, here is what you need, but I'm not sure that it will work on pre-2000 softails.

Thanx for the tank info guys. Still up in the air if I gonna do a sporty king or just get some softy tanks.

So my obsessive compulsive disorder really kicked in today. I mean I really pulled it off when I built this bike!!! I figured the chances of actually getting the plan completed were very slim. When I took the first rip and it tracked straight and felt great, I was literally stunned. I really loved the look too. I actually did it!!!!

I built this ****er in my garage with a plan and common tools!!!!

So today I am pulling stuff apart and found a small crack in the outer primary cover. Thats another 200 bucks with gaskets and all. I have another 500 bucks in parts on the way and I still dont know if it will be straight or even run!!!! I have tried to keep a good attitude and stay up, but it really sucks. Just venting. I guess if I get it back togehter and it runs and tracks straight, I should buy a ****in lottery ticket!!!!

I know, I know, there are bigger problems in the world. Stop yer bitchin *****!!!!!!

Bike looks good if a little on the long side but the black helps pull it back together.

You can pick up plain/natural primary covers relatively cheap on EBay.
Sorry to here about your B-I-L, that stinks at any age, but that is way too young.
Nice to see your spirits are back up! You did a killer job on that bike.
