So i decided against that fender I fabbed up. The main reason was because I didnt feel like bringing the bike to a shop to weld on the tabs to mount it. Also it was a bit "off" as far as following the line of the wheel.
I bought a used hugger fender from hot bodies off ebay. It is basically like the stock mud guard I had mounted on there but it is much bigger and provides more protection from all the crap gettin thrown off the tire and is a direct bolt on part. Should be here tuesday according to UPS, pics to follow.
I am gonna trailer the bike to a shop in Watertown next week. The guy is gonna diagnos my tranny / shifting problem. He seems to think it is the shifter prawl after I spoke with him. Figured I should have someone who knows what the hell they are doing look it, just to be sure the clutch is properly adjusted and to get the thing squared away.
Winter is not good for me. I get bored and start cruisin ebay, then trouble may start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And hey, is there some easy carb upgrade for my bike. The motor is stock evo 1340 with stock carb and air cleaner.
How about just an aftermarket air cleaner?? I know on some bikes the stock air cleaner is important to make them run properly, are harleys the same or can I bolt somethin on for a little better breathing?? Do they offer bigger or better carbs?? What do they run $$?? Worth it??
Thanx, just watchin the snow blow outside and passin some time.

Sure you can get a better AC but you might need to re jet the carb. Might want to start a thread over in the evo section to get an exact carb/jet/intake combo.
Hey, what are those covers that go under a small springer style seat, ya know, over the battery. Sorta triangle shaped. Covers up the frame and battery and wiring a bit, cleans it up nice. Cant seem to find them. Want a black one.
Got the hugger fender mounted up. Looks great. Pics tomorrow.

Ya, sorta like that. I thought they made a product like that for softails?? I know I have seen them, just cant find one for sale or the proper name so I can google it.
Bolted on the hugger. Looks pretty good, just have to decide what I am gonna do with the tank and hugger as far as final color / finish.
Took the bike to a HD mechanic today to look at the tranny / shifting issue. He advised that there is a spring in the shifter mech that is not functioning properly, either snapped or whatever. The only problem is that the entire gear pack has to come out of the tranny, including removing the primary. I was lookin at 10 hours labor!!!! He said if I pulled the tranny out of the bike and brought it to him, it would be a quick job, couple hours. Soooooo..........here I go AGAIN!!!!!!! Tear the whole frigger apart!!!!! Oh well, at least it is not riding season.
Since I will have the bike apart AGAIN, I am gonna make a list of all the detail work (ignition, wiring, paint, etc) get it done.
You should be pretty good at doing that now lol. The gear set comes out pretty easily, once you have the primary off. You should be able to fix this problem yourself, if it's as obvious as a broken pawl spring.
