Ouch! That's why I did most of my hard playing in dirt, didn't grind near as much skin off - couldn't afford leathers back then. Can't be scared of that pavement a few inches away, or it'll probably bite you, and the few times it got inches from skin, it scared me; been lucky, haven't lost any skin yet. I just can't, never could, do what those guys do, but it's fascinating to watch.

After moving to MN, I've really lost the edge, not just age, urban roads here are terrible with cracks, potholes, oil and loose chit, even "taking it easy", I've drifted both wheels unexpectedly, kinda scary on a heavy Harley. Have an old Honda V45 Sabre, great handling bike, but can break the rear end loose on corners real easy if the pavement isn't clean (and the suspension is miserably harsh for an old butt). I've never ridden an electronically enhanced bike, wonder if with just two wheels it makes a big difference.

How does the Monster corner with that longer wheelbase? I've only ridden a Honda with a stretched wheelbase, seemed to corner about the same, but had a more comfortable ride.

Like a TRUCK!!!!!

I guess its not that bad really. But it is what it is, a hot rod, rat rod, cruiser. I dont attempt to corner at speed, just cruise.

How many rides do you think this guy went on before he realised he needed that back rest. Lol. Awesome bike though for sure.

The monster needs a new back tire.....ya know what that means!!!!!!!!!

Some important observations:

Difficult manuever on a ten foot long bike with an open primary!!

Note the tape on the left pant leg, trying to avoid the leg getting sucked in!!!

This is the same t-shirt from the CB burnout video from 2 years ago.

Thanx for the comp.

Finally put on some new rubber today.

Used the 190 Dunlop off that 1000RR wheel I had and got a new front.

I should have used the flash on the camera. The tank is getting a nice betina (sp?) of surface rust. Looks great.

Took a rip for about an hour. Cold as hell, but great ride.

So the season is almost over here in Ct. I road last sunday as it was pretty mild out. May get a few more sunday rides before the slop starts.

Since winter is coming my mnd starts turning about what I can do to the monster this winter. The big idea I have been toying with is gettin a bigger motor. I considered having some work done to the 80" to sqeeze out some more power but I am leaning toward just gettin a bigger mill. I can always sell the 80" and get a pretty good chunk of changetoward the new motor. The 80" is a real solid motor, just looking for more!!!!!

You all know I am not really a "Harley guy", so I have some questions.

1. If I do go with a bigger motor, will it bolt right into my frame?? If not, do they sell mount kits or something or would I have to look at having custom mounts made??

2. If I go with a bigger motor, should I stay with the same 5 speed tranny??

I guess those are the first questions. Thanx for any info.

I was also scrolling through my photobucket and saw this pic and started thinkin....maybe I should have stayed with the stock rear end.....hmmm??? (Then again if you go back through this whole biuld thread, I think I already had that mental battle with myself!!!)
