Default Little help with progressive drop springs please..

I am installing the drop-in kit from progressive and have a few questions. First has to do with the washer that goes between the spring and PVC spacer. Does the size of this washer control dampening? I did not get the kit new so need to know if the washer has to be a particular size, or if it can be close? I would use a washer that would be close in size, but may not be 100%. just wanted to find out if that washer plays a critical role in how the forks operate.
Next question is about the spacer. If cut to the length specified on the instructions, does this lower the bike, or do you have to go beyond that? The kit I have is a progressive drop kit. Thanks!

The washer dose not play a roll in the pre load. The washer is 1.2mm thick. If you cut the spacer to the length specified on the instructions it will lower your bike a full 2" over stock if you are looking for a 1" drop add 1" length to over all listing for your bike.

Am I right in thinking you can also cut the spacer more than 2" and trim the springs as well to achieve more than 2" drop

As per the instructions, you can cut the spacer up to 1/2'' shorter than specified to get a little lower. This is what I went with and it gets the bike down pretty low [EDIT: had to order a shorter jiffy stand LOL!] still has good suspension movement. Be careful if you trim too much as you may end up without preload.

This is a VERY easy kit to install if you starting with a stock suspension.

My only issue is that there is a slight clunking noise now... Progressive got right back to me saying that some noise is normal and i've heard others say the same. Curious to hear how the OP fairs in this regard.
