HID H4 conversion
So the $400 HD kit is illegal too? If they put theirs through DOT i will just say its an HD kit and pull the cert ha!
Ive only been out once so far but everything seemed ok. Its been raining allot here, shitty fall weather. Anyway the amp draw is comparable to a 45W bulb so that makes it less than all of those 55/65W superwhites that allot of guys are using.
I shouldn't have any load or drain issues. I have also turned it on and off several times in a row and there is no reset period for the ballast. Its acts just like the stock bulb so far.
Drag Specialties has a kit like this for $150 but that's the one Fireman put in and he had to run a hot wire in for the Hi/Lo function which means its one of the old style harness kits.
We need someone in one of those warm southern states to do the long term testing this winter...mine will be torn down soon.

Some of these kits have been hit and miss as far as quality. On the flip side, I have been running an aftermarket HID kit on my bike for at least two years now with zero issues. I also have gotten a couple of my friends set up with similar kits and they have all been happy with theirs. The aftermarket housings designed specifically for HID lights are far superior to a standard halogen retrofit, but plenty of the halogen lenses handle the HID light output pretty well. I love riding at night with HID lighting. It puts halogens to shame.
can u post the part numbers
