Its this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-B...item27b227d66e

It only has one ballast that is AC and it is also small so I said mini. Its really small and fits in the 7 inch housing easily.

Everything you need comes with it.

Had a problem yesterday. Blew a fuse starting the bike (running light fuse) I think it was because I had just ridden awhile so the ballast was warm. I stopped somewhere for a couple minutes and when I went to restart the bike the ballast tripped its internal thermal protection circuit and it modulated on and off as the bike was turning over. The modulation caused the lamp ignition to reignite over and over again which i believe overloaded the fuse with repeated amp spiking.

I installed an on/off switch for the headlamp above my passing light switch on the back of my tree covers. I will just turn the headlight on after I start the bike and this should solve the issue. It cranks super strong now without the headlight and passing lamps on pulling juice during starting...all bikes should have a headlight switch!

The only problem your going to encounter on a small headlights is the ballast location specially on the sportster headlight. i usually extend the wire of the HID bulb so i can position the ballast under the tank and run everything under the tank. if your buying an HID kit, make sure you buy the one with a slim ballast and dont forget to install a small on/off switch to disable your low beam headlight when starting the bike or else you'll be drawing a lot of amps into your battery. or you can put it on high beam before starting the bike. i know its sounds confusing but you'll know what im talking about when you see the kit. unless you buy a Bi-xenon HID kit.

"H4 Bi-Xenon HID Conversion Kits come with two Ballasts, two Xenon bulbs and all the necessary hardware and mounting accessories needed. Bi-Xenon HID kits have both low beam and high beam HID's. Unlike The High/low HID Kits which only have HID on the low beam and halogen on the high beam. Bi-Xenon HID Kits give you the pure and bright HID light on both your low beam and high beam."

Almost all HD have a single bulb headlight. The HID kit I bought has Xenon high/lo function in a single bulb that is somehow electro-magnetically activated. You can see it move when the beam is switched.

I dont understand the technology but I can tell you that I have the same HID light on both high and low beams.

I did find this on an HID site:

BiXenon Bulbs ( aka -3 bulb)

If you need your high beam to work properly than you're last choice is to go with a BiXenon (our model {bulb-3}) which gives you both High and Low in Xenon. This high beam will work correctly and will point where you tell it to. BiXenon bulbs usually come with 3 wires per bulb. They also come with a control unit that handles the low vs high beam. The bulb is actually blocked so that the beam is directed down while in low-mode. When the car's electronics are engaged and the high beam is selected a magnet moves the bulb so that it is no longer blocked and you get "high" beam.
The BiXenon bulbs, as per the High/Low bulb are only available in: H4, H13, 9004 and 9007 bulb types. As you can see to the right, the base of the bulb is longer by about an inch. Please make sure you have the clerance. Also note that the bulb contains a small magnet keep it away from other electronics before installing.

My bad, i attached a wrong page, that was the regular HID. this page is the Bi-xenon which is more expensive. the second one is for motorcycle.

Do you have a removable H4 bulb in your headlight and is it a 7 inch bucket? If so you should be good to go.

You need an on off switch with all HID kits, you will run into trouble trying to start the bike with the HID on.

I just spliced in a 20A switch to the low beam hot and mounted the switch above the toggle for my passing lamps.

When you mount the switch be sure it is in a location that when you turn the bars from side to side the clutch cable doesn't snag it.

I have about $35 into my conversion and I would love to put it next to one of the $300 LED lights for a comparison.

I also just got an Adjure tribar black dot lamp housing in the wave cut...cant wait to try it out.
