You need an on off switch with all HID kits, you will run into trouble trying to start the bike with the HID on.
I just spliced in a 20A switch to the low beam hot and mounted the switch above the toggle for my passing lamps.
I'm not a fan of switches so i ordered a time delay relay which is another option that works for all lights. You can buy cheaper 10 second relay or buy a adjustable 0-30 second relay so i went with a adjustable for those harder to start winter mornings.
When my relay arrives ill post how i wired it up.
Do you have a removable H4 bulb in your headlight and is it a 7 inch bucket? If so you should be good to go.

When you mount the switch be sure it is in a location that when you turn the bars from side to side the clutch cable doesn't snag it.
I have about $35 into my conversion and I would love to put it next to one of the $300 LED lights for a comparison.
I also just got an Adjure tribar black dot lamp housing in the wave cut...cant wait to try it out.
The wiring and bucket(7") are stock so I'm assuming its an H4 bulb(the bike is a 2000 Heritage Softail) I will check on it though. Thanks for great info...

Thanks Motown. I went ahead and ordered one as well. I was up and down on whether to order a spare bulb, but as of right now, I just ordered the kit. What the hell, right? If I actually do like the kit, I'll order up a spare bulb or two in case it ever does blow out. They are cheap enough to order up a couple and keep one in the saddlebags just for safety sake. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks Motown this is great. I added it to my eBay watch list. I just have a few more questions that have been raised on this thread before I pull the trigger on it.
1) I'd like to see a picture of the switch you installed, and a few instructions on which wire and how to get to it.
2) Jetlag, I'm interested in the relay idea as an alternative to the switch. I'd like to see a few instructions on that too.
3) I already have a garage door opener in the bucket, so I hope there's room. The opener is tapped into the positive and negative wire of the high beam, click the highs twice and the garage door opens or closes by radio frequency.
