Just put the Softail Custom mini-apes on the wife’s Deluxe. Had it out yesterday for about an hour, and you would not BELIEVE the difference. Before, the front end felt heavy in tight turns, and especially slow tight turns. Now it just flows right through. I was scraping the floorboards, and looking for something tighter.
We went with the Custom 1” bar, because we wanted to put heated flame hand grips on it. They felt good in the 28 degree temperature! They had to put 4” longer cables on it. We also had the chrome controls and switch housings installed, as well as an auxiliary switch housing. We put the digital clock in the middle and lower slots, and a garage door opener in the top slot. GREAT setup!
I will try to get pics attached 1-31-07. Having trouble getting teh file small enough to post.
I'm sorry about no pics. I tried once before, and the file was too large. I'll try to crop and see if it will work.
We just got the bike back late last week. She likes the way it feels and sits, but she is a "warm weather rider", and it was 18 here this morning. She will wait until it get in themid 50's before she tries it out. Until then.. I get to play!![sm=wootwoot.gif] [sm=happy046.gif]
Also try www.resize2mail.com to resize your pics, as I would be very interested too. Can you buy the longer wires, or did you just solder on the length you neeeded?
I spliced and solderedin to make the wires long enough. All in all it was a pretty easy upgrade. I was able to use the stock length throtle cables. The brake cable is from a Dyna Wide Glide, and the clutch was from something else, the DWG was too long. We just started pulling out cables from the parts counter to find the right one
Here's my twocents on thephoto resizing. I use the Image Resizer Power Toy from Microsoft. All you do it right-click your files and choose Resize. You can also select multiple files to do at once. It will make new files or resize the originals, your choice. Check them out http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
