Crossbones makeover
Not sure yet. I have actually been mulling it over. I am pretty sure I wil do red as the primary color. I am thinking either super traditional white or grey as the accent color. If I use white, it will be between white and ivory, a "dirty whitewall" if you will. I am going to do whatever design I decide on real loose and open. Nothing too intricate or crazy to keep it traditional looking in that aspect as well. I will do some on the tank and both fenders (I don't plan to run the front fender for now though) I will also probably do some small things in some random spots. Maybe the oil tank, headlight bucket, fork legs, frame, turn signals. Not on all those spots, they are just places I may do something. I don't want to clutter it. I have a bit of a sense of humor, so I thought about doing some lettering on my swingarm bag (you can stripe leather) that say "shitbag"
I didn't realize how long it had been since I updated. I got some other things done as well. I am running the HD seat with the scissor springs. When you buy the install kit for it, it comes with a two piece frame cover. One part is the actual fram cover, the other piece covers the ECM. I have the shadetree frame cover as well. It would have taken major modification to work with the seat I am running. I decided to mount the ECM behind the oil tank. Since I am doing that, I can use the frame cover that came with my seat. The problem with that is, there is a huge notch cut out of the back edge where it fits with the ECM cover. I took the frame cover to an apholstery shop. They filled the notch and covered the whole thing in black leather. The grain is a very close match to the inserts in the seat. Should look pretty good. If anyone is doing the shadetree set up, I have their battery cover that I will be selling....
Yeah.....there isn't much chrome left, but the bridge on the springs, the front shock, the ignition switch and my head light mount would look awesome engraved.....

Valve covers and timing covers? Black now?
most of the motor is black. The tranny top and rocker box covers are still the stock polished finish. I am thinking about doing the panhead style rocker box covers at some point though...
Takes a lot of work to pull those pan covers off. Seen a stocker with them. Threw up a little in my mouth. With the old school route it would work. You looking at gloss black or chrome covers.
