I had never been on a bike before and the area I bought it from is real busy, lots of construction. Not a good place to start off.
That was late August, 2500 miles later I go anywhere :-) Have riden in as cold as 18 so far, 37 on the way in today. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't say, "isn't it cold on that bike". I say sure, but it's still fun :-D
Wish I could have rode mine home, it was perfect weather also, but I promised my little man (4yoa) that he was comin with me to get the Harely so we trucked it home. Couldnt leave him behind.
I just bought my first ever Harley.
I built my dream bike, and it should be completed in a month or so when all of the parts come back in.
I don't know if I'm going to make it, I'm as giddy as hell right now. It's early December, and it'll be 5 more months before I can ride it, so they will be delivering it...[sm=chairshot.gif]
George.....That sounds like one helluva bike you're having built! I'd be giddy too...lol... Can't wait to see the pics when you post them...Good luck with her...
All jokes aside about having my bike stolen just 7 days after buying my Harley...I flew out to pick it up and rode the 580 miles back home. It was cold as hell, but I smiled the entire way. Well...maybe a little teeth chattering was going on, too...But I wouldn't give up that ride for anything. It was amazing. You -have- to ride it home. My new bike will be in sometime around Wednesday and this time it's a local dealer. Doesn't sound like quite as much fun...but I think I'll just make a road trip out of it, anyway. Good luck!
I picked up my bike and I parked my old Chev Sprint in their parking lot and left it there for a week and half, company never complained but it sure was an eyesore LOL.I was too busy enjoying my new ride that I forgot about my car.The funniest thing is I thought someone would have stole my car but they didnt.
Picked up new Fatboy yesterday, drove home on a clear day at 0c - it was well cold.
Been a few years since I did some biking so day before went for a refresher course - 2.5 hours on 125 then 500cc, car park first then two one hour trips.
Best ÂŁ50 / $75 dollars I've spent. Amazing how quick it all comes back....
Bottom line, drive it back yourself if you feel confident enough.
Unfortunately, when the day came to pick up my new bike..it was raining so hard it sounded like hail hitting the windows. I had to have a buddy of mine pick it up in his trailer. It was 3 days before the rain stopped. I spent a lot of time in the garage those 3 days. lol
