I didn't want to make a mess of my new baby before I got to enjoy her.
I would have loved to ride her home, but if I did... I probably wouldn't be her to post this message. It took several hours in the neighborhood before I was safe for streets!
...I calculated the mileage per day on the Deluxe and found that I am riding it twice as much as the chopper...go figure. Several of the members on the chopper forum really gave me a hard time about making the move to a Deluxe. One member replied "more comfortable...insurable. what were you thinking?"
Obviously you were thinking "RIDE TIME!" Post some pics in the Deluxe Picture thread and/or make an album when you get a chance, Dave!
Rode it home on 15th of May. 39 degrees out. 120 mile ride an enjoyed the heck out of it. Even the knees shaking for 20 minutes when I got where I was going wouldn't ruin the first ride on her.
What the?? You have to ride her home! You just gotta! It is part of the bonding process to take her away from those people(dealer) who don't love her like you do. Take her for a gentle run all the way home and ease her up the lane slowly so she knows where her new home is.
I picked up my new FLSTCi yesterday and had to brave the 86 degree weather. The sun was too bright and I could only last 123 miles before having to stop for gas and get home. It was tough (once in a while it's great to be in So Ca).
richp5, congrats on the new Heritage!, Hope you enjoyed your first run in the sun. I'm afraid those of us in colder climates are reduced to sitting there beside our scoots drinking a beer and counting the days until spring. Have you taken any pics of her yet? If so, you know what to do!
No I haven't posted pics - will do so when I come home in the light. What color is your scoot? I ordered Cobalt Blue and it looks purple to me. I was hoping for your color blue - guess I screwed up.
