Default Question for softail slim owners

How do you guys like em?
I sat on one today at the dealer, and it looks and feels great
For those that have em, any likes, dislikes? peeves?
Hows the Seat and suspension comfort on long rides?
(thinking I might trade my RK in the not so distant future)
Post pics if u have em. Thanks

going from an Rk to a slim the suspension will be a huge diff. You are riding a touring bike and coming to a softail. you might find the ride more rough.

I;m 6 even and feel a little bit cramped so i am doing a ape install and gonna switch seats in a little to let me sit a little further back. For the most part my only real gripe is the seat a lot find it to be the most comfortable stock seat but it doesn't do me good.
Theres a Softail slim thread here with a bunch of pics.

Love the Slim. Rides great and looks great stock. Only problem is the low inventory for switching out to a more custom look (not an issue for me bc I like the stock look). But i think it'll get better as time goes on and more of the Slims get sold. Never been on a RK before, so can't compare the ride.

You're gonna have a hard time getting anything but rave reviews from Slim owners.

That said if you tour a ton and prefer that kinda ride the Slim ain't built for you. You can always make it tour worthy and a lot of guys have done a fine job with that.

But outta the box it's a stripped down bobber and bar hopper. I love it for the city ridin and regional trips I do.

I think it was born for that.

This is a long way of saying if you love the bike buy it. Just realize you may have to make some changes to make it tour the way your RK does. That's fun or not depending on your point of view.

Then again maybe you just wanna bar hop now. .

Post script:

don't know if you ride 2 up a lot, but you can throw on the HD Sundowner and detach backrest for those moments. Then switch it quickly for a solo when it's just you.

Final note......The Slim is awesome

Thanks for the replies
The thing I like about it is the "minimalist" look and feel to it.
Btw, how do u guys like the 103 and do the stock pipes sound good or
is that the first thing to go. (base on past experience the stocks are too quiet)
Edit: Thanks holdfast.
Yeah, now is more like short trips, with occassional 2-up with the wife or kids.

The 103 is fine and yes the stock exhaust is to quiet, Vance and Hines was the first mod I made to make it sound like it was suppose to.

Slim is an awesome looking bike! But took one for a test ride and about 5 miles in it was not comfy the way it is from the factory mainly because of the hard narrow solo seat! Honestly coming off a touring bike and thinking of a softail I would look into one of the fatboys. There bigger more beefy and the big fat 2 up seat they come with is very comfy. And honestly you put laced wheels on a fatboy lo it has very similar style as the slim... Just food for thought!

Cool thanks guys for the input.
I figure, If I ever decide on one, I might look into the
spring seat or other options.
I guess because its still new in the market that
Aftermarket stuff is still not up to snuff?
(I just made a rhyme, LOL)

I just bought one a few weeks ago and I love it. Did a few hundred miles the other day and it was extremely comfortable. I'm 5'9 and put 12" apes which make for the perfect riding position. At least in my mind. Definitely switch out the exhaust.
