Default Heritage Windshield Angle

2005 Heritage with stock HD quick-remove w/shield. The angle is too vertical causing unnecessary turbulence above 60 mph.

Anyone modified the mounts so that the shield lays back at a more inclined angle? Or any other solution?

Thanks.

What is the height, where does the shield come to in terms of your face. Some prefer looking through it. Others, myself included, prefer to look over it. For the latter, the shield should be around chin to nose height. To lay the shield back could throw a lot more wind in your face depending on orientation.

Turbulence also comes from other areas. Putting you knees against the tank helps at higher speeds. Fangs, wind deflectors, really cut down on turbulence. Great for winter riding.

Throw away the original and buy a Klock Werks. One of the best bike investments I've ever made.

I replaced mine with a Long Ride Shield. Went two inches shorter and get less wind and much less turbulance

I've researched this issue the first 2 yrs I had our bike.
The problem is the wind comes up under the shield, not over the top.
I've cut mine 2 inches shorter and it made no diff..

The best fix that will help U the most is to get a set of Fangs, They mount under the shield to the forks.

Many, Many happy users of them in here to help fix buffering issues.

Not the best looking mod, but it will Help with the wind buffering..

Another fix I 've found if Ur problem is worse when wearing a Helmet, is, believe is or not is to get a 1 size smaller helmet.. My first one was actually to big and loose, and it really shook on my head for the buffering of the shield,, After I got another one in a smaller size it cut down my head shaking by atleast 75% more..
I Dont mean to get one that's Tooo tight, just get one that fit snug like they are supposed to.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think I will suggest a set of Fangs to the Ms. I think she'll like the idea because they're chrome.
