Default Got me a new fatty!

Hey guys,

So, I finally decided to go with a Fat Boy! I was going to get a 2012 Fat Boy Lo, but of course, at the last second, the owner backed out. His wife talked him out of it.. UGH! We were all set and ready to go to my Credit Union to finalize the deal. Oh well!

An hour later, a guy I called about a 2010 Fat Boy earlier in the week calls me back. I had dismissed it because the price was to high. Well, to make a long story short, we agreed on a price and got the deal going.

Paid $12,500 for it. Its a 2010 Fat Boy with 4,800 miles. Super clean! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy to be back in the saddle.

So with that being said.. I need to find some pipes, a sissy bar, and order a new rear tire for now.

With new pipes, do I need to get a Power Commander and air cleaner? Are those absolutely necessary, or can I just run pipes for now? Shouldn't the ECM be able to adjust with these newer bikes as long as I don't change the air filter?

Ok, enough talk.. Picture!

Nice ride. Your ok without the power commander. If you change the air cleaner the you will want one. Do a search and you will get a bunch of info and opinions. Good luck.

Excellent, from the picks it looks perfect.

I was told by a H D mechanic last week that pipes only the ECM should adjust. My Samsons are being shipped right now. I thought about doing pipes only too but decided to get the AC and Power Vision also. I felt like doing pipes only is kind of doing it halfway. I thought why spend the money our bikes cost and then only cut cost in order to making it run as good as it can.

Check out Xieds, Power Vision or SERT and others. This forum has alot of valuable info.

Congrats on the new fatty - sweet look'n scoot. Gotta say everything happens for a reason so you were destined for the 2010 bike. Run the pipes and put some miles on the ride - work on the mods later.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the welcome. I've done tons of research when I had my Street Bob. Its just been a while, so I'm a bit rusty with all the information. I'll put the pipes on for now, and get a Power Commander later when I have more money.
