Hey Guys,
Just bought my wife an 06 Deluxe. I have a couple of questions. One about the exhaust and one off topic.
I have done a search and results were all over the map.
My wife wants a little more sound than stock. She has no desire for A/C mods, etc. So we are talking slipons only. It is necessary to remap?????? Not looking for PC or SERT. However, will do that before I pay $150.00 for a flash. Thanks in advance
Off topic question:
Does anyone make arider backrest for the Deluxe???
if you are not changing the AC, just put on the muffs and enjoy!
on the back rest...do a search for member Bluerose...i think she has one on her Deluxe
here it is..called a Springer Seat Rail..pretty cool looking
oops the pic didn't show up....anyway check out Bluerose's Gallery
Most aftermarket pipes that don't require industrial ear protection also don't require remapping. BUT, depending on which pipes you get, remapping anyway could gain you a bit more power.
Dont' concur. Do the stage one A/C and remap. Doing the muffs only will release back pressure on the cylinders and destroy off idle low end torque, which is where most of us ride. Sure, the bike will sound and run fine, it just won't run the same. Doing the A/C and remap will bring the exhaust pressure back up to design. I also have noticed that muffs only will cause alot more popping and backfire.
