..had 98 FXSTC, custom, had a lot in it, raked and stretched, custom tank, all new sheetmetal, custom flame paint, pipes, Wimmer, cams, about $27000 not counting labor, stolen from locked garage. Insurance came up about $7000 short. Never seen so much as a part, had lot's of hand fabbed one of a kind stuff, if I ever find a part someone is getting an "*** whippin", I don't care if "they" stole it or what, if they didn't steal it they can take *** whippin back to where they got the part.
A couple of friends got their rides stolen from the door parking at The Venetian in Vegas (Las Vegas Bike Week) last year... Those rideswhere rentals so I bet they had a tail right out fromthe dealer... The thieves must have had keys in order to take 'em in front of everybody.
lucky it was just rental, i will not ride my bike and park some where that i can't keep eye on it at all time's, here at home stay's in garage and i have two Scotty's that go ape at any noise i could never hear, that give's
me time to get my sling shot out and make um dance. oh by the way on rental's don't you have to leave 1000.00 or some crap, do you get it back? doe's your insurance increase? they must screw you even if not your fault, i thought they had lo-jack's and stuff. now a-day's i don't trust dealer, he could have set you up. parinoid.
Yeap, the paid 2K each... that killed their mood for the rest of the trip, but lucky them... only rentals.
The rest of the chapter got paranoid, they did not ejoyed the party as much as they should have... They chained the entire group of bikes and stand night shifts to guard the rides, of course those were their rides, not rentals.
Several years ago I had a Bike advertised in the local paper for sale. I got a call one evening from a guy who said if I left the bike in a convenient spot he would arange pick up and that i could turn it in ti my insurance as stolen. Made me think, how many bikes are actually stolen, and how many are playing the insurance scam.
