Anyone running a 107?
Is it real hot?
Does an oil cooler help?
What kit do you have if you have a kit?
Can I go with slip-ons and still get pretty close to the #s of a 2-1?
Thanks ahead for the any ideas.
Also if you have any items for sale that I may need in this conquest please let me know.
I've got the FM 107 with level B heads and woods 777 cams on my 2007 fxst, I have VH short shots. I'm running 110hp and 124 torque. I just got it installed and have only takin it out in mild temps, +15 or so with a cool wind. It was running around 250 degrees which for me is hot because before I got the kit I was averaging 200 to 225. I am planning on getting a oil cooler very soon. From what I've read you will get between 10 and 15 more hp with a good 2-1 pipe

I was think the 2.5 inch vh slip ons. The right cams and the right head work will put the gravy on the biscuit when it come to the build. With 124 trq is there any concern on the crank twisting being it is pressed unless you had it welded. The heat is from thinner walls on the cyl but I'm thinking a good high end oil cooler will help a lot. Not the hd it's just not good enough.
I am going on my second season with the 107 and had the heads done this winter. Head temps on mine run 270 on a 91 degree day sunny and humid. Temps stay around 250 - 260 on cold days. That is with a closed loop map and in the cruising range I have the closed loop bias pulled down to 500 just to experiment. Normal bias setting I run is 650.
iT will all depend on your builder and tuner. You will get more hp with a 2-1 pipe. I was recommended a jagg oil cooler. As for the torque I was told that I didn't have to do anything to the crank because I wasn't pushing over 115hp. Anything over 115 hp is when I was told I should consider upgrading or truing the crank

You'll tear the clutch up before you twist the crank.. the stock HD clutch is rated to handle 120tq.
My 107" runs pretty hot, but i don't have a thermometer on the bike so I don't have exact temperatures, but it is noticeably hotter than the 96". I'll see how it does through the summer to decide whether I want an oil cooler on it or not. I like the looks of the UltraCool oil cooler, but $300 later..ya know..
You should be fine with slip-ons, at least for awhile..but I don't think you'll make the same numbers as a 2-1.. though it will only be a hand full of HP and torque.

Plan to get a vpc clutch. What 107 setup are you running and do you have any dyno numbers?
