Default oil... choices!!!!!
After days and hours on hours worth of research and going thru 10 bottles of visine, i want to hear some opinions on what you guys are running in your softails... ive got an 04 fxst and am from northeast PA. What oil do you run and recommend to run in the crankcase, trans, and primary?

HD SE synthetic in the motor, HD primary fluid in the primary, and Lucas Oil 85W130 gear lube in the tranny. Will probably switch motor oils though, as HD now wants $13/quart for their oil, and it's made by Mobil

Ams oil 20-50 in engine and primary ams oil 75/90 in trans

Mobil 1 20w50 v twin oil in motor, redline shockproof in trans, drag specialties primary oil in primary. This is what my Indy recommended years ago and still recommends. He has done many motors.

Mobil 1 20w50 v twin oil in motor,Mobile 1 20W50 vtwin in primary and redline shockproof in trans.

Mobil 1 20w50 V twin oil in primary
Mobil 1 75w90 gear lube in tranny

when did mobil start making syn3 for harley? this is big news and i think we would have heard more about this if mobil did in fact make syn3. of course i did not stay at a holiday inn express last night, and there fore am out of the loop.

Here ya' go, this wont take any thinkin' at all. Mobil 1 Vtwin 20w50 in all 3 holes, DONE.

Harley SYN 3 in all three holes
I just did 2 weeks ago, primary, trans and motor.
Happy with it so far, not running as hot as before.

Castrol 20/50 VTwin Syn in motor. Valvoline Vtwin 10-40 in primary (not syn). Lucas 85-140 in Xmission.
