I personally think they took all the negative feedback from the rocker, took it under serious consideration and made this

Me too. Not everybody agrees on which gal is prettiest either though, and I suppose that's a good thing.

I've nothing against it but I don't see get the hype either. I never cared for the Rocker at all. The Breakout looks better than that, but I like the more traditional looking bikes.

I never knock ones bike, choice of bike or what they do to it. Having said that I don't see it either. My very 1st, split second thought when I 1st seen the Breakout was that it reminded me of my 1st Harley, a 1975 Super Glide. Now, don't jump me because I know they are 2 totally different bikes but it was my very 1st thought the very 1st time I laid eyes on one. I do think though that if it came down to a Breakout or a Rocker, I would take the Breakout.

I think part of the attraction of the look of the bike is it looks like a softail should

it's like what the evolution of the softail line became

there is the fatboy, heritage, deluxe and they all stay true to the lines of the originals they take their names from - meaning there isn't much new about a 2013 Fatboy versus a 1995 Fatboy

if you like the softail line up, and many of us do, they just look like what a bike is supposed to look like, then the Breakout is a never longer, sleeker, great line modern design on the softail line up

the CVO has great bars on it, I watched the video of the breakout and it's a kid that designed the damn thing, and they went with the straight bars for more of that drag bar style bars, but the CVO bars were so much more comfy on that bike then the standard model drag bars

as others have stated - I rode them both (CVO and standard model) at Bike week in Daytona, and they did not disappoint

my wife has a 2011 Fat Boy and I love jumping on that and buzzing around, but the forward controls on the Breakout made it more comfy, and that ride is really great on the breakout

the 103 is more than enough to pull you around and flicking it into the turns was a blast with that big 240 rear

I think it has good lines and a lot of potential. The thing is it's new, and it's different. Last year it was " why are all these people talking about the slim". People don't have much to say when it comes to the standards in Harley's line up, the Heritage, the Deluxe, the Fat Boy, these are all tried and true models and already have their market space. The Breakout is designed to attract new riders to Harley. It will die down and the bike will find it's niche.

Short version: Flavor of the month

To me it's the nicest looking new bike Harley has brought out in awhile. Needs lots of mods in my opinion but it's a great platform. I'm not so crazy about it that I'd ever consider getting rid of my Night Train for one, but if something was to happen to my Train I'd look at the Breakout.

If I could afford one, I'd get one. I'd prefer the CVO but I'd take the "non CVO".

I almost got one a few weeks ago, when they offered to take mine in on a trade but my payments would have shot up. And probably my insurance too.

Having come from a Fat Boy, I love the Breakout - ride, stability, center of gravity and looks. Having a choice of a new Fat Boy or Breakout of equal value, I'd take the Breakout every time.
