Nice answer to the challenge, bonus for the "educational info" link. I like those a lot, actually.

As for the break, ain't gonna happen soon for us, I'm afraid. Thursday is forecast to be the worst storm yet for us, with ice and nasty winds. Here's to trudging through, and laughing about it once we get back out on the road.

Patches. We need patches. Like Merit badges. Every one you win, gets a new patch.

I had thought about tally marks like WWII fighter pilots put on their planes for downed enemies.

Next challenge is in front of an old industrial building or factory that has been abandoned. If you can tell us what they use to manufacture there and as per the norm GOS.

The Aragon fabric mill in Aragon Georgia. It was built in 1898 by Walcott & Campbell and operated until 1970. In 1974 Si Kahn wrote a bluegrass song about the effect the mill closing had on the both the workers and the town of Aragon.

I went through an open gate to get the shot, much to the chagrin of somebody who called one of the town councilmen, who blocked the gate with his jeep, and in turn called the cops. It was all good in the end, but it gave me the idea for the next challenge:

Your bike, GOS, with a 'no trespassing' sign; extra points if you're on the 'trespassing' side of it.

Just curious, what legal standing does a city councilman have in the protection of abandoned property, unless the city government stole the property through imminent domain, and well, you know......

This little town clearly never recovered after the mill shut down. I suspect for a lot of the people here, 'time on their hands', and a monthly government check, is all they've got. I may have been the most exciting thing to happen in Aragon in a while.

I had a great ride and got the picture I was after; the citizen, councilman and cop got to justify their 'jobs'. There was never a reason, on anyone's part, to escalate. We all walked away on good terms and with a story to tell.

Doesn't say "No Trespassing" ... Let me know if this is good enough...I can get a No Trespassing sign, just thought this was more interesting.

Trespassers will be Shot, Survivors will be shot again
