Hard to believe no one has run across a muscle car. Got some ridin' time today so if I don't find one let's dust this thread off and issue a new challenge.

with the non friends and family stipulation gotta wait till cruise nights, and they are slowing down round these parts. since they are late evening and the sun goes down early and it's into the 50-60 now.

I was thinking the same thing honestly. We still have a couple cruise nights up here but I definitely thought this past Friday/Saturday/Sunday someone would've gotten it.

Over the weekend saw a restored 54 Ford, parked, and 50 Pontiac, going 50 MPH on I35 north of Waco. The Pontiac was one of the best restores I've seen on the road, in a while. Was in a truck at the time, though.

The only time I've seen any old cars lately has been while I've been driving mine.

We were planning on going to a car/bike show last Saturday morning - I was going to take the Slim, and my wife was going to take the '40 Chevy. It got cancelled because it was f'ing snowing. Nothing stuck, but nobody was going to bring out their toys in that crap.

Sunday, we opted to take ol' Betty (the Chevy) out for a cruise. We ran into all kinds of people out for "just one more lazy ride". Haven't seen anything since.

At this point, it's dark and chilly when I leave, and getting close to dark by the time I head back home. The joy of taking the bike to work isn't there for the rest of the year. It'll be weekends only, and maybe at that.

Ragnar, every year you get those months on cold and nasty, yet you still continue to live up there. 89 here right now. May get down to the lower 80's next week. Any new stuff on the Chevy since you got it? Post a pic or two of it, just so this thread has some new things to view....tp

I will leave this to the judgement of the group. This is certainly pre-1972. This is a 1954 Kaiser Manhattan. The reason I included it is because it is a supercharged 6 cylinder. Kaiser couldn't get credits from the government if they used a V8 so they were made using McCulloch superchargers. Interestingly enough the motor is the same one used in Clark forklifts today. So, if this is a winner the next challenge is your bike with a forklift.

Yeah, family ties, jobs, club... too many roots. I've not seen a hurricane since I moved up here (post Katrina from the NOLA area), though. Can't say I haven't thought of heading back to a warmer climate, though.

Most of the work we've done to the Chevy has been subtle. Rewired the front half of the car with a repro cloth-covered harness made to OEM specs, and replaced a bad brake switch. Fixed a couple of broken ***** and whatnot. LOTS of wax, chrome polish, and compound. Replaced the missing passenger wiper blade/arm. No new pics...

I like it. While it's no souped up GTO, it's got "a little something extra". Not diggin' the 2-tone combo, but hey...
