After a near fatal illness last fall, I finally pulled the trigger and bought another bike after not riding for 13 years or so. My fiance had been telling me I should buy a fatboy so we could go riding together.
We looked March of 2012 and the 13's had just come in. They had a beautiful birch white/ember red sungo deluxe that was perfect, but I just couldn't convince myself to buy it with all the idiots on the roads these days talking, chatting, texting etc. We both love the classic look and the deluxe was the right bike, just not the right time.
FF to September of last year and nearly losing my life to Lemierres Syndrome in October, I said screw it, life is way too short. After a little recovering and gaining back the 30 pounds I lost, I went back to the dealer and lo and behold, they had just got a new 2013 in the same colors!
This time, I pulled the trigger and love my bike and my life. Here is a pic before I put my dragonfly fairing on this weekend when it comes on Friday.
On a side note, please don't ever take anything or anyone for granted! I have never been sick a day in my life and run 20 miles a week and am in perfect health. In the span of 3 days, I almost died of one of the rarest diseases. Only 100 or so cases have ever been reported. My doctors were able to diagnose it by day 3 or I would have not made it beyond the next day which happened to be my birthday.
This pic is me at the dealer with a big smile in December of 2012. Notice the big smile.
I have a dragonfly fairing coming this week and will post some more pics when I have it installed. Here is a pic of the outer fairing paint job.
