While I'd agree that anyone who is relying on ABS to get them out of any jam shouldn't be riding - at the same time, I don't know of anyone who does.

A motorcycle has to driven unlike a car. the tech stuff shows that the distance to stop is longer when abs id active thats all I said.
Under ideal conditions, yes - but road conditions and situational conditions are very seldom ideal, especially in panic situations.

...nothing about airbags and seatbelts as neither are on a motorcycle.
True, they are simply examples of other safety systems that you could defeat.

I have extensive training on abs systems and the certs to prove it thats why I wrote on this thread as there were some wrong info being put out here. as for deactivating an abs system is not a bad thing that is up to the rider and no one else.
Wouldn't it be better to advise people to watch the ABS DVD that HD supplies with their bikes? It does a fair job of explaining what to expect and what not to expect from their ABS.

I saw a guy last summer that crashed andafter hitting the guardrail and ended up in the middle of the street couldn't believe he crashed cause he had abs brakes.
I think we can both agree on his mental capabilities.

Thats all I wanted to point out and not get into a pissing match. I do know what I am talking about and if I dont I dont say anything
If you don't want to have ABS, that's fine, but stating that you can stop faster w/o ABS gives people the impression that they can stop faster all the time, which most likely they can't - especially in a panic situation.

Sigh. That's not what I wrote... but you appear to think I'm questioning your credentials. I'm not, and you shouldn't question mine. So other than just pissing at each other, I'll bow out of this thread.

Take care and ride free.
