My wife absolutely hates the stock seat on my '02 Fatboy. She has rode on a few other seats with not much sucess. Her favorite was a Mustang seat that was about 7" wide and 1.5" thick. Not sure what the name was. I have a Corbin solo seat also, don't know if I could get a back seat for it to try or not.
She doesn't like the wide seats, so I was thinking about something narrow, like 6-8" wide. I was trying to find something fairly cheap incase she hates the new seat also.
Looks to be pretty wide. Like I said, she doesn't like the wide seats. Anything narrower?
The passenger pillion is only 11 inches at the widest point. I've had some women of varying sizes ride with me and so far they all claim to be very comfortable. If your wife thinks that width is too much, just go to www.mustangseats.com and look over all of their models. I'm sure that they'd give you dimensions on any model that you might be interested in.
I have a BAR Industries Hitchhiker seat on my 05 Night Train, and the passenger pillion is 8" at it's widest. The driver's portion of the seat is extremely comfortable (it has a built in lumbar support and high back), and as you can see in the pics below, the passenger pillion is quite thick. I have the Millenium Foam (which can also be had on the passenger pillion) on the driver's portion which adds to the comfort, but also to the price.
Mine was about $435.00 delivered to my door from California to Ottawa, Canada.
I am looking at a Mustang Daytripper. It is 8" wide, and looks decently think. Price isn't bad either at $289.
Might try a Mustange Cobra if I can find a used one also. I have seen them go for ~ $100 on ebay now and then.
They are only 6.5" wide, so she'll like the width, but it looks pretty thin.
Seats are a funny thing. I have a corbin young guns II on my deuce. It is hard as a rock, but I think that the harder seat ( at least for me) is much better. I say this as this is the fourth seat on this bike. The hd seat SUCK!!! the HD touring seat P.O.S.!!! tried a mustang was ok at first with in 200 miles I am moving around like I have ants in my pants. Tried a another with the GEL inside YUCK . Bought the Corbin was not happy at first on the hardness, well I am here to tell you that even as broke up as I am I rode non stop from phoenix to four corners CO non stop on a SLAMMED deuce. LOVE THE SEAT, it really like when you get what you paid for. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside LOL Really for a seat I look at it like a bed in a hotel/ motel what do you really think you are going to get for 39 dollars a night??? HMMMMMMMM come on you know a lumpy bed with stains on it LMAO before buying do as much research as you can. talk to people it is like the questions so how loud are your pipes?? it is all one's take on it. Good luck
