Default heritage softail owners...please help

I have a 2013 heritage softail and have a question. do the blinkers on the back serve as running lights as well? Mine only come on when I turn the blinkers on.The front ones stay on and serve as blinkers as well as running lights so I'm thinking the rear ones do as well. Am I wrong or is there an issue with them I need to look into?

The signals on the back only serve as signals unless you add the module that converts it to running lights. And then you would need to swap to red covers

you need this if you want them to be running lights.

if you can find something aftermarket that does this, I would go that route. there are many stories of these thing getting wet and frying. would be a waste of money, unless your bike doesnt get wet.

I don't know the plans you have for the lighting on your bike. I just wanted to give you all of your options.

As mentioned, the rear turn signals do not function as running/brake lights in stock form. You have two options to make them run/turn/brake lights:

1. The conversion kit mentioned by hbarleatherneck
2. Convert the rear turn signals to LED. The HD LED rear turn signals will function as run/brake/turn signals if installed per their instructions

That's good to know as I plan to convert all the lighting to l.e.d.'s. i just installed the auxiliary sissy bar brake light today. I like it! I wouldn't mind more lighting so i can be seen better.I have already been hit at night once.It kept me off bikes for a while.

I believe the only choice from HD for rear LED turn signals on newer Heritage models is the flat lens Bar & Shield logo

LED flat lens turn signals with Bar & Shield logo
Red lenses - HD Part # 68128-10
Smoked lenses - HD part # 68127-10

Here is what they look like

The brake light is the HD LED with chrome bezel (part # 68085-08)
