Had the same thing happen a few months ago. No puncture in the tire. Last time I'll spend double the price on a HD tube.

No matter if it's a dealer mount or DIY, never have nor would I not put a new tube in a new tire! Also, change that rubber band around the wheel.

Just had my rear tire replaced a couple of weeks ago.

I told the dealer that the rear tube was good because I had a flat last year and it was replaced at that time.

The dealer told me that they add $32 for every tire change for a new tube and that charge is there whether or not I want them to put in a new tube

He then said in other words if you want us to replace your tire, you're going to get a new tube regardless of when the old tub was replaced.

I guess now I understand their reasoning.

When replacing a tube be sure you get an American or Eureopean one. No China crap. They weigh about 1/2 as much and are very prone to unexplained failure. Most dealers will use the china junk if you dont specify.Maybe even if you do.
Good luck.
