NooB Question
The bike came with 1 alarm fob. I can start the bike no problem without having the fob anywhere near the bike.......From reading here I learned that 2006 and earlier bikes, the fob button has to be pressed/hold to arm and depressed/2x to disarm, unlike the 2007+ where the fob automatically arms/disarms the system based on the fob's vicinity to the bike.
Well, I haven't used the fob to arm/disarm the system for fear it may malfunction on me and get me stranded. I just lock the ignition and fork whenever I leave the bike in a parking lot, etc.
My question is, when it comes time to replace the bike's battery, will I need to do any reprogramming to the alarm system when old battery is removed and new one installed (bike not having power for a few minutes) ? or is it as simple as... remove old battery, install new battery, start bike?
Oh yeah, great info on replacing the battery in the keyfob before it goes dead.
